Scene Notes – Tasks, Issues, Annotations v1.5.0 (15 Jun 2025) introduces a powerful tool for 3D and 2D game development within Unity. This resource pack enables teams to place tasks, issues, and documentation directly into scenes, eliminating the common frustration of “Where is that thing I need to change?” by anchoring notes to specific objects or locations.
Scene Notes allows developers and designers to add annotations with rich properties including title, content, status (Not Started, In Progress, Done), category, associated scene, position in space, linked GameObject with offset, screenshots, author, creation and modification dates, and comments. Notes are stored as ScriptableObjects, not within the scene itself, ensuring version control integrity and preventing scene file conflicts.
The tool is delivered as a “Scene Overlay” that can be docked to any corner of the Scene View, providing quick access to core functions: hiding or showing notes, filtering by category or status, creating new notes, and hiding other gizmos. Additionally, a Notes Browser window offers a searchable list of all annotations, filterable by name, author, category, status, or open scenes—making it easy to locate relevant information at a glance.
This solution enhances collaboration across teams by enabling precise, context-aware communication directly within the Unity environment.
