 Decalery v1.2 (01 Nov 2025) is a mesh-based decal system developed by the creator of Bakery. It enables the imprinting of decals of any shape onto meshes of any other shape, producing a simple alpha-blended mesh that can be rendered efficiently across all platforms and render pipelines without additional overhead (except for regular overdraw). The system includes two decal generation methods: one for in-editor level design and another for runtime in-game creation. Key features include support for decals and receivers of any geometric shape, lit and lightmapped decals (with compatibility for both built-in and Bakery lightmaps, including SH, MonoSH, and Volumes), deformable decals on skinned meshes, dedicated decal shaders optimized to reduce Z-fighting in URP, HDRP, and the built-in render pipeline, multiple runtime decal spawning techniques, and trail-like decals for effects such as skidmarks. Decalery has been tested across Unity versions from 5.6 to 6000.0.10, including the built-in, URP, and HDRP render pipelines. While Bakery is not required for Decalery to function, the system fully supports Bakery’s advanced features.
