 rdMeshTools 1.4.2 (5.6) is an Unreal Engine plugin that integrates into the Static Mesh Editors toolbar and the Content Browser’s context menu. It enables quick and easy adjustments to static meshes, including scale, rotation, mirroring, and pivot point changes. The tool allows standardizing orientation and scale for assets like doors—commonly oriented randomly to walls—directly in Blueprints or code, eliminating the need for manual rotation or pivot adjustments. When applied to selected actors or prefabs in the level, it also applies position shifts. The plugin supports bulk editing of collision components, allowing users to add or remove simple and complex collisions with just a few clicks. A Copy/Paste Sockets to Clipboard feature enables seamless transfer of sockets between meshes. Spatial UV maps and vertex color data can be created, making materials spatially aware in an efficient manner. The tool works with both individual meshes and multiple selected meshes in the editor. It operates directly on raw mesh data, offering performance equivalent to changes made in modeling software—though changes will need to be reapplied if the mesh is re-imported. Compatibility includes LOD-based StaticMeshes and Nanite StaticMeshes. In version 1.30, two new tools were introduced to simplify mesh preparation for instancing: they generate new meshes for StaticMesh actors with negative scales or unique materials, helping resolve common issues during ISM conversions with minimal effort.
