The Runtime Vertex Color Paint & Detection Plugin v1.31.4 (5.7) enables real-time painting and removal of vertex colors on static, skeletal, or spline meshes, allowing developers to implement innovative game mechanics, unique game modes, or enhanced audio-visual details. The plugin supports detecting vertex colors by retrieving data from the closest vertex to a hit location, including vertex color, position, normal, material, UVs, and native EPhysicsSurface per vertex color channel. It also provides access to the colors of each bone, as well as the average color and physics surface within a defined mesh area, enabling logic triggers when players paint or remove vertex colors over large sections. Additionally, the plugin now estimates the color and physics surface at the actual hit location, which is especially useful for meshes with few vertices when the hit point lies between vertices, allowing precise sound or visual effects based on the color at the hit position.
