Optimize and increase your framerate with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Game Super Resolution 2!
SGSR 2 Mobile – Upscaling for Unity has been tested in Unity versions 2021, 2022, 2023, and Unity 6.
SGSR 2 is an upscaling technique specifically designed for ultimate performance on mobile devices, including Android, iOS, WebGL, and the Nintendo Switch. It creates high-quality, high-resolution frames based on lower-resolution input, allowing your project to run at a drastically reduced resolution without losing visual quality and with improved framerate.
Unlike SGSR 1, which is a spatial upscaler, SGSR 2 is a temporal upscaler—similar to FSR 1 vs FSR 3. While SGSR 1 remains the fastest, SGSR 2 offers superior visual fidelity at a slight performance cost.
SGSR 2 is the first upscaler to support WebGL 2.0 and WebGPU.
This Unity asset interfaces with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, available at: https://github.com/SnapdragonStudios/snapdragon-gsr.
If your project is limited by GPU performance, SGSR 2 Mobile improves framerate. If limited by CPU performance, it reduces GPU workload, resulting in lower battery consumption on mobile devices.
The asset is designed for easy setup with comprehensive documentation. It has been extensively tested with all default Unity Post-Processing effects, though custom post-processing assets may not work out of the box. Support can be requested for custom assets.
For further visual enhancement, consider combining SGSR 2 with FSR 3, XeSS, or DLSS for Unity to achieve even higher quality upscaling across different GPU platforms.
