Introducing Automotive Gauges – GUI & Code v1.1, a comprehensive game resource pack designed for developers building vehicle simulation or driving-based games in Unity. This asset provides a ready-to-use collection of high-fidelity vehicle instruments, including Speed, Trip Meter, Engine RPM, G-Force Meter, Temperature, Fuel, Current Gear, Turn Signals, Backpanel Lights, Warning Lights, Compass, Rearview Mirror, MiniMap with zoom, and Accelerometer for G-Force visualization. A DataConsole displays real-time information and small timed warning messages.
The pack features fully customizable layouts and colors, supporting both analog and digital gauge displays. Users can easily modify pointers, colors, backlight settings, and instrument scaling factors to suit their needs. The instrument values are automatically calculated via a script using a reference to the vehicle’s Transform, or can be manually set through the GUI with a LowPassFilter to smooth readings. A configurable filter allows control between smooth and instant value updates.
The resource includes a variety of prefab templates with different layout styles—Compact, Transparent, Analogical/Digital/Misc, Full GUI, Minimalistic GUI, Panel, and 3D Template—each offering unique design options. A 3D prefab is provided for placing instruments directly within a 3D car model using world coordinates. The asset also features realistic engine sounds and pitch synchronization with RPM, along with simple mechanics for engine overheating and fuel consumption.
Additional tools include a mini Sound Manager, a Console Display for timed messages, and a simple camera movement script that simulates a driving experience for testing.
