FGear Vehicle Physics v5.6 is a custom vehicle physics solution designed to help developers create arcade or semi-arcade style racing games. Focused primarily on 4-wheel cars, it also supports multi-axle vehicle setups. The resource pack includes a core module and additional components developed during the creation of the example project.
Key features include adjustable integration steps, simplified tire models (Pacejka, Pacejka96, MF6.1), 3D wheel support with multiple raycasts or sphere/convex casts, a simple engine model with torque curves, configurable transmission types (auto, sequential, manual/h-pattern), open, locked, or limited-slip differentials, Ackerman steering with adjustable toe and camber, torque and brake distribution per axle, spring/damper suspensions with preload, multi-axle support, aerodynamics for drag and downforce, a standard input manager supporting keyboard, joystick, and wheel+shifter, driving aids such as ABS, ASR, ESP, and anti-roll bars, detailed telemetry UI, and a basic save/load system for fast prototyping.
Additional features include an adjustable third-person camera, sample visual and sound effects (engine, skid, muzzle), a custom collider component that separates collision from inertia, and a basic AI driver. The package consists of 30 C++ classes, supports network replication, and is compatible with Windows for development and Windows and Android for target builds.
