The Character Editor - Metahuman v5.1+ is a ready-to-use character customization system built on a robust technical foundation, designed to support a wide range of character creation and management needs. It includes facial data with approximately 80 Morphtargets based on FACS for realistic facial animations compatible with ARKit. The pack features Data Assets that combine unique character elements, organized into child classes such as apparel (hats, upperbody, lowerbody, etc.) and hairstyles (hair and beards), along with placeholder attachment and equipment classes. Clothing options include around 27 pieces per gender and 20 for children. Hairstyles are available in 7 male, 5 female, and 5 child variants. The system supports multiple skeletons, including child-specific skeletons. Anatomy Profiles enable the creation of RPG-style characters such as dwarves, elves, and orcs. Basic wrinkle maps are available in development to enhance facial realism. A variety of skin base textures and skin tints are provided. The system includes randomization and SaveGame functionality to save and load customization profiles. Thumbnail Studio assists in creating in-game thumbnails for Data Assets, while Light Studio offers customizable lighting setups within the in-game editor. Morphologies such as muscularity, obesity, aging, and dynamic size are supported, ranging from 160cm to 185cm (UE4 mannequin only; UE5/Meta update in development).
