CoInspector | Split Inspection, Tabs & History v1.0.4 introduces a powerful workflow enhancement for Unity's Inspector. It allows users to split the Inspector into two independent, resizable sections—enabling simultaneous inspection of Assets and GameObjects side by side. This eliminates the need to switch between windows or lose selections, keeping GameObjects with GameObjects and Assets with Assets. The resource pack features Tabs, which let you manage multiple GameObject selections as separate, independent Inspectors. Each Tab supports its own Debug and Lock modes, as well as History Tracking. Switching between Tabs does not affect your active selection—unless you choose to make it do so. Inspection History lets users navigate back and forth through recent inspections, reopen closed Tabs, or revisit previously inspected Assets. Additional features include access to the Last Clicked and Most Clicked GameObjects. Scene Sessions preserve your Tabs and inspection history across scenes, allowing you to resume exactly where you left off—ideal after an editor restart or crash. Customization options let users tailor the Asset section to their workflow, choosing from a minimal footer to a full Inspector with import settings. Users can hide sections, ignore folders, or disable Asset Inspection entirely. Advanced Dragging enables moving and cloning components between Tabs, dragging Tabs or inspected Assets into Editor fields, and dragging Assets directly into new Components (e.g., AudioSource from a Clip or Animator from an Animator Controller). CoInspector is fully compatible with custom Editors and Inspector extensions (such as Odin Inspector), supporting both simple modifications and comprehensive overhauls. However, injection-based extensions are not supported due to potential compatibility issues. If problems arise, users are advised to disable such extensions and report the issue. Additional quality-of-life features include middle-clicking GameObjects to open Tabs, selecting or pinging Tabs, improved multi-selection, instant switching to Unity's default Inspector, copying Asset paths, collapsing or expanding Components with a single click, and a Local Hierarchy View.
