Mobile Traffic System 2 v2.5.0 is a highly performant and easy-to-use traffic system designed to enhance driving games with realistic and dynamic traffic behavior. No coding is required for setup. The system offers a comprehensive set of features, including support for trucks with trailers, pathfinding between waypoints, and automatic path following for vehicles. It includes advanced traffic rules such as overtaking on multi-lane roads, priority for ambulances, traffic light intersections, priority intersections, roundabouts, narrow road handling, and complex give-way and zipper-style give-way mechanisms. Vehicles can avoid collisions with buildings and recover automatically. A player component allows traffic vehicles to prioritize the player's car and enable overtaking. Customizable vehicle properties (acceleration, max speed, braking, steering) and variable wheel counts (3 to any number) are supported. Automatic vehicle assignment is available with a single button press, and speed routes can be set to enforce lane-specific speed limits. Car types can be assigned, with access restrictions based on road type (e.g., trucks only on main lanes). Priority waypoints allow for dynamic vehicle distribution across roads. The system supports realistic lighting (main, brake, blinkers, reverse) and basic engine sounds based on speed and acceleration. Hard shadows are supported for improved performance. Custom events can be triggered at specific waypoints for dynamic gameplay. A toggle function allows switching the direction of the entire waypoint network (currently in beta), supporting right-hand and left-hand traffic. Vehicles can be programmatically made to change lanes, and vehicle behavior can be overridden via the API. A pool of vehicles can be defined to remain unspawned and instantiated manually. Events can be subscribed to for system monitoring and customization. Delegates allow easy modification of default behaviors. The system includes custom editor tools to streamline integration and provides a simple API for advanced use. Full, commented source code is included. The system is compatible with any platform that supports the Burst compiler and requires Unity 2021.3 LTS or higher.
