 MegaScatter v1.50 is a procedural object placer that enables developers to create complex, detailed scenes with significantly reduced memory usage compared to traditional object placement methods. This results in smaller file sizes and faster level loading times. Objects can be scattered using splines or textures to define scattering areas, with a layer-based mesh system offering full control over the placement process. Scattering can be performed in Editor mode or at runtime, supported by a complete scripting API for fine-grained control. Meshes can be combined to minimize draw calls and improve performance. The system includes a full spline toolset, supporting import from Maya, Max, Blender, SVG, OSM, and KML files, as well as spline-to-mesh conversion. Features include runtime scatter options, dynamic rescattering, adaptive scene complexity based on device capabilities, multiple scatter scenarios for seasonal changes, six scatter layer options, texture-based masking, proxy meshes for colliders, avoidance of scattering near selected objects, noise addition for visual variation, customizable color, size, and rotation variations, slope limits to prevent scattering on steep terrain, automatic alignment of objects with the surface beneath them, and integration with MegaShapes Lite for Bezier spline creation.
