InGame Code Editor v1.1.3 is an advanced input field for Unity that leverages TextMesh Pro to display syntax-highlighted code. Inspired by notepad++, the editor offers high customizability, allowing users to add syntax highlighting support for new programming languages. While not a full-featured text editor, it provides essential text editing capabilities and requires manual addition of features like menu bars and toolbars if needed. Key features include ease of use—simply drop the prefab into your scene and customize it—full text editing functionality, optional line numbers, fully customizable editor themes (with pre-set Light, Dark, and Terminal themes), customizable syntax highlighting, a highly optimized lexer for fast syntax processing in large texts, and support for highlighting keywords, symbols, numbers, comments, and string literals. Keyword groups enable different colors for various keyword categories. The editor natively supports syntax highlighting for C# (multiple versions), Lua, MiniScript, and JSON, with easy extensibility to additional languages. It includes basic auto-indentation based on opening and closing tags, a fully commented partial C# source code example, and comprehensive .chm API documentation for quick reference.
