Enviro 3 - Sky and Weather v3.3.2b (26 Mar 2026) introduces a next-generation sky, cloud, and weather system for Unity, designed for ease of use and maximum flexibility. Compatible with Unity 2020.3.36 or higher, the pack supports all major render pipelines including Built-in, Universal Render Pipeline (URP), and High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP).
With a modular architecture, users can add or remove components directly from the Enviro inspector, allowing for tailored integration without unnecessary bloat. Key features include:
- Dynamic skies with multiple color gradients for realistic and customizable sky visuals
- Realistic lighting control over directional, ambient light, and reflection probes, especially optimized for dynamic time of day
- A dual-layer volumetric clouds system featuring temporal reprojection, LOD optimization, depth blending, and screen-space cloud shadows
- A dual-layer exponential height-based fog system with volumetric lighting from the sun and moon, and support for fog removal zones
- An optional weather system with biome-based presets, enabling seamless transitions between weather states via a single line of code
- Customizable Aurora Borealis effect rendered in the sky shader for cold night scenes
- VR support with single-pass instanced rendering in Built-in and URP (HDRP VR support coming in a future update)
The system is designed for fast implementation through a simple drag-and-drop workflow, with all settings accessible in a single inspector window. Additional features are planned for future updates, including dynamic time of day with calendar integration, realistic sun and moon positioning (latitude/longitude), 2D clouds, seasons, temperature, wetness, snow simulation, particle effects management, audio control, procedural lightning storms, and an event system for game logic.
