This resource pack enables the recreation of a realistic mossy conifer forest in your game or scene. All assets are meticulously crafted and optimized for current-generation hardware. Every mesh features LODs with custom LOD distances and shader LODs to reduce rendering cost at a distance. Most assets include 4K textures, scaled down to reasonable "game" sizes to fit within Unreal's default StreamingPool without compromising visual fidelity. Trees and large vegetation are equipped with billboards for optimal performance and visuals, along with Pivot Painter Wind for realistic movement. Wind strength can be controlled globally via a single parameter in the MPC_Weather parameter collection, adjustable from a light breeze to a full storm. A global snow parameter is also included in MPC_Weather to add a light snow layer to the scene. The landscape shader is optimized with five materials, including a Path Material designed to create gameplay paths, with no procedural spawning on this material for easy visual guidance. Two versions of the landscape shader are provided: one with tessellation and displacement enabled, and one without. Note that tessellation in Unreal is performance-intensive and is no longer officially supported by Epic, with no future availability in upcoming versions; it is included only for those who prioritize visual detail over performance. The pack includes an example map—a 2x2km procedurally generated forest with a backdrop—containing not only the main conifer forest but also smaller sub-biomes such as swamps, grassy meadows, and lakes. The scale of the map is difficult to convey through screenshots or video, so we recommend loading it into an FPS template project and exploring it firsthand.
