 The Volumetric Spotlight with Shadow 4.26+ game resource pack features a realistic volumetric spotlight effect that simulates light reflecting off dust particles, fog, or damp surfaces. The effect creates a volumetric illusion by filling the spotlight cone with a series of planes oriented perpendicular to the light direction. Users can adjust the spotlight's width, length, and shape (including square options), as well as set custom colors. Due to the rendering method—using additive, transparent planes—the effect is computationally intensive, as the entire volume must be rendered rather than just surfaces. To optimize performance, the number of planes is dynamically reduced based on the distance from the camera. All performance settings are fully configurable. The effect runs smoothly at 30FPS or higher on mid-to-high-end hardware. Additionally, dynamic 2D masks can be applied to the material shader, allowing for realistic lighting effects such as light passing through windows or panels. Only 2D masks perpendicular to the light ray are supported, but simple 3D geometry (e.g., a sphere) is rendered correctly, enhancing the realism and visual impact of the volumetric lighting.
