This resource pack features 35 AR/VR ready, botanically accurate plant models that naturally occur in the Northeastern United States, ranging from Maine to Michigan, Kentucky, and Virginia. It includes 102 unique 3D meshes. The plant models were originally developed by Maria C. R. Harrington as part of her doctoral research on simulated ecological environments for education. The Virtual Trillium Trail Project explored how digital media design influences emotions and learning in immersive virtual environments, focusing on information fidelity and navigational freedom. The models were later revived and integrated into the AR Perpetual Garden Apps (2015–2018), a collaborative project between artists and scientists from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, designed to enhance educational experiences in both museum and outdoor settings.
